Following Saturdays fantastic home win against recently relegated Queens Park Rangers, I thought it would be a good idea to rate the players on their individual performances.

Not only did we come from behind in a game that on paper, lets face it we shouldn’t have won, but we looked like we were always wanting to score more goals than the two we actually did score.

Tenacious work from a midfield trio of Maikel Kieftenbeld, Stephen Gleeson and David Davis didn’t go unnoticed as many fans on the way out of the stadium commended them for their great work rate throughout the game.

Counter attacking football that was of the highest quality was carried out by Demarai Gray, Jacques Maghoma and Clayton Donaldson.

Defensive grit was there throughout the game and I thought we were unlucky to concede the goal that we did, as it was via a deflection which took the ball away from a fairly in active Tomasz Kuszczak.

For me, the quality of the performance against what was still a Premier League side due to the amount of players that they have kept hold of, was our best at home out of the six that we have played so far this season.

Below are the ratings that I would give each individual following how they played during the 2-1 win.

Kuszczak 6- Very unlucky to concede a goal as he wasn’t trouble throughout the game. Kicking was poor throughout the game though.

Caddis 8- Looked strong at the back and capable going forward. Tucked the penalty away with ease but picked up a silly booking which could have cost him later on though.

Morrison 7- Brilliant performance from the captain. Strong in the air, cleared when asked to and did everything right.

Robinson 9- My Man of the Match. Scored only his second goal for the club and won near enough every challenge he went in for. The only bad thing he did all game was get turned for the goal.

Grounds 6- Diverted the ball into his own net which was unfortunate but other than that I thought he had a very good game and was always on the front foot.

Gleeson 7- Looked good on the ball and set up several attacks. Really progressing game on game which is great to see.

Kieftenbeld 8- Chased every ball down and never game up throughout the game. Got himself stuck in where he could and he was shy of getting forward either.

Maghoma 8- One of his best games in a Blues shirt. Strong on the ball, leading counter attacks and won the free kick which led to the equaliser.

Davis 6- Fairly sturdy game for him. Chased what he could and sat back when either Gleeson or Kieftenbeld went forward. Very intelligent performance.

Gray 8- Looked like he wanted every ball from the first minute. Was part of every attack and he even got back when he could to help his team out. A very complete performance by the 19 year old.

Donaldson 7- Despite not scoring, he won the penalty which Caddis converted which now means he has six assists for the season. Another good game for Donaldson.

Subs: Solomon-Otabor (6), Shinnie (5).

Blues fans, what did you make of the performance from the team on Saturday? Was it the best one you have seen at St.Andrews so far this season? Who was your MOTM? Let us know in the comment section down below!
