Gary Rowett’s Birmingham City threw away a comfortable two goal cushion on Tuesday night as Preston North End earned themselves a point at St.Andrews thanks to a late equaliser from Greg Cunningham.

With just 13 minutes on the clock, the home side took the lead through Clayton Donaldson who grabbed his tenth goal of the season.

Diego Fabbrini created some space from himself on the edge of the area and his low drive was parried by on loan goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard but Donaldson was on hand to tap in the rebound.

Heading into the second half and Blues grabbed another soon after the break, Donaldson once again on target. David Cotterill struck yet another superb freekick that was too hot for the keeper to handle and the Jamaican international striker prodded home from close range.

Despite looking like they were home and dry, Blues shot themselves in the foot and gave away a two goal lead for the first time this season.

Midfielder Alan Browne was the first to see his effort fly past the returning Tomasz Kuszczak who has missed the past three games with the Lilywhites smelling blood once Browne’s side-foot volley had found the back of the net.

And with less than a minute left of normal time, the visitors got their reward for their final ten minutes of pressure. A ball was floated in from the right hand side and Cunningham rose the highest and found the back of the net.

Down below are the ratings that I would give each player based on their individual performances during the disappointing game on Tuesday night….

Kuszczak – 7

Caddis – 6

Morrison – 6

Shotton – 7

Grounds – 6

Kieftenbeld – 6

Davis – 5

Cotterill – 6

Fabbrini – 7

Maghoma – 5

Donaldson – 8 and my Man of the Match.

Substitutes: Gleeson (4), Lafferty (4).

Blues fans, do you agree that with his two goals Clayton Donaldson was the Man of the Match? Let us know in the comment section down below!
