Birmingham City walked away from St.Andrews on Friday night with a well deserved point which could have been more had they taken their chances when they were on top in the second.

Midfielder Stephen Gleeson opened the scoring for the home side as he scored his second goal in front of the Sky Sports cameras this season taking his tally to five for the campaign.

The ball fell to him in acres of space on the edge of the area and his superb drive was too much for Dimi Konstantopoulos to handle, but the Greek goalkeeper will feel he should have done better with it.

However, just seven minutes later and the visitors equalised through Jordan Rhodes. A Gaston Ramirez freekick was fumbled by the otherwise impressive Adam Legzdins and the former Blackburn Rovers striker was on hand to stab the ball home.

After the break, Aitor Karanka’s side took the lead, this time through Ramirez off a Rhodes assist. Albert Adomah floated the ball in fantastically and Rhodes bead the offside trap and his knock-down meant that the on loan Southampton man just had to nod the ball into an empty net.

Despite Boro looking like they were going to run away with it, Gary Rowett’s side fought back and with just over 20 minutes left to play they pulled level through David Davis.

After a cross was half clear, the ball landed just in front of Davis and his wonderful half volley flew into the bottom right corner of Konstantopoulos’ goal to even things up.

Blues could have won it with 15 minutes to go but Diego Fabbrini’s flying header sailed over the bar. But Middlesbrough also went close when captain Grant Leadbitter smashed his shot against the crossbar.

Down below are the ratings that I would give each player based on their individual performances from Friday nights very entertaining game…
