Birmingham City boss Gary Rowett has a tough choice to make on Thursday night when Hull City visit St.Andrews in regards to who he plays at right back.

Cries came out of Loftus Road on Saturday afternoon demanding that Paul Caddis be brought back into the fold ahead of on loan Derby County defender Ryan Shotton and I stand with the masses here, Caddis needs to come back!

As a defender you are always taught, if in doubt, get it out! and unfortunately for Shotton, he just didn’t do that at the weekend and it cost us the first goal.

Caddis is a good old fashioned right back, he attacks when he can and he defends like a trooper as well, taking no nonsense in the process.

It could be argued as well that Shotton was at fault for the second goal because his positioning was poor meaning that Paul Robinson had to come over and try and cover where he should have been.

Blues fans sometimes under estimate what Caddis does for the team and in recent weeks it has been clear to see that we really are missing him!

For me, I can’t see Shotton playing against the Tigers on Thursday night because no offence to Queens Park Rangers, they are a much better side, and if the Derby loanee is in the side, we could be in big big trouble!

Rowett needs to make a big decision on who he plays but if I was manager, I would most certainly be playing Caddis ahead of Shotton and I wouldn’t even be considering bringing Shotton back into the fold.

Blues fans, who would you play at right back on Thursday night? Would you choose to play Paul Caddis or Ryan Shotton? Let us know in the comment section down below!
