Luke Turner looks at who he thinks will have the most impact on Saturday…

A few days ago I highlighted Jacques Maghoma as being the potential key player versus Bolton Wanderers.

In the 1-0 victory over the Trotters, Mahgoma put in a man of the match display down the left side of midfield to justify my decision.

Next up for Blues is a trip to the capital to face Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road. The player who I believe will be key for Blues this time around is David Cotterill.

Now, although he has just returned from injury, I think that he looks ready for a starting berth and he was very sharp when coming off the bench on Tuesday.

There is no doubt that we have missed the qualities that the Welshman offers to the team. His pin point delivery, his forward thinking play and of course his threat in front of goal.

Having him back for the remainder of the season is almost like signing a new player. His season hasn’t really got started and has been very stop start due to some niggling injuries.

His return, though, is something to look forward to and hopefully we can get the best out of him. He will certainly be looking to perform well with the incentive of gaining a spot in the Wales Euro 2016 squad in the summer.

If I were Rowett, I would start Cotterill on Saturday as I don’t think that Will Buckley has offered huge amounts since he scored on his first start for the club against Ipswich.

In his 25 minute cameo on Tuesday, Cotterill looked dangerous and was always available as an outlet on the far right.

He kept his width and was willing to take on their full back. He also provided a couple of decent deliveries and had a volley at the back post saved well by the keeper.

The pitch at Loftus Road is quite tight and compact so finding space via the likes of Fabbrini or Toral may be difficult.

Therefore, we must make the most of set pieces and Cotterill is almost certain to put in a top delivery for those in the box to attack.

Even if he doesn’t start, I still think he can have an impact coming off the bench towards the end of the game so he is definitely a figure to look out for.
