Since his move to Birmingham City was made permanent in January 2016, nearly 18 months ago now, Diego Fabbrini has really struggled to find the form that earned him the move to the club in the first place.

Former manager Gary Rowett obviously saw something in the Italian that warranted him spending £1.5 million on him but he has never repaid the faith that was shown in him.

On Wednesday afternoon, immediato.net reported that last season’s Serie C champions Foggia were interested in a move for Fabbrini.

The reports in Italy claim that Foggia are looking to take advantage of Fabbrini’s limbo situation with last season’s loan club Spezia Calcio failing to follow up their interest as of yet despite there being an option to buy in the previous loan deal.

There is no doubt that the 26-year-old has plenty of talent but with his family seemingly settled in Italy and with a young baby in the family, Fabbrini may well looking to take Foggia up on their offer, should one eventually come in for him.

Blues fans only really got to see what Fabbrini was about in glimpses during him time with the club but I believe that the time has come for Fabbrini and Blues to cut their losses and part ways.

I don’t think that Blues will be able to recoup the £1.5 million that they paid Watford for Fabbrini but a fee in the region of £750,000 to £1 million would be sufficient for me.

The time has now come for Fabbrini to move onto pastures new and I really hope that manager Harry Redknapp allows him to leave to pursue other adventures.

Blues fans, do you agree that it is time for Diego Fabbrini to leave Birmingham City? Let us know in the comment section down below!
