Many Blues fans optimistically say when a player joins our club, don’t judge them until they have played a game for us.

Well the same goes for versatile Rotherham United defender Greg Halford.

The 30 year old defender come midfielder come striker, joined Blues an hour before the emergency loan window closed and immediately received a high amount of criticism from many football fans on the social media site, Twitter.

Fans from all over the country, including Wolverhampton Wanderers, Birmingham City, Rotherham United and Nottingham Forest, were all questioning why the move had been completed.

Quite simply, the move will have been pushed through because Gary Rowett believes he can offer something else to the squad.

During his time with Blues, only one of Rowett’s loan moves has turned out to be a bad one, Lloyd Dyer from Watford, so why are we all so quick to judge?

Personally, I don’t think fans are right to judge straight away because we might all be pleasantly surprised.

Although Halford probably won’t feature as many times as he would like during his loan spell with the club, if he does play, I will give him my full support and I expect most Blues fans will as well.

What happens if he goes and scores the winner against Huddersfield next weekend to end out home drought? Will fans be slating him then? No I don’t think so!

They will all probably be singing his name from their rooftops and then turn around and think, was that pointless writer from Vital Birmingham right? Why did I judge him because of other people’s opinions?

Looking through different comments on social media sites, like the above mentioned Twitter and also Facebook, I found myself being one of a select few, and believe me that is a very small minority, who were defending Halford.

It was quite clear to see from his tweet that he was excited about his move to what is obviously a bigger Championship club than the Millers, so I ask again, why are fans putting him down so quickly!

Blues fans, do you agree with what I am saying? Have you given your full support to Halford since he has move to our club? If not, then tell us why in the comment section down below!
