Having watched the majority of the season, plus the FA Youth Cup run, I have earmarked the young striker, Kyle McFarlane.
At this age, it’s not about being the complete package. In fact, these kind of players often get distracted in later life, by the media hype. Also, there are loads of players who stand out at academy level for their skills.
I look deeper. It’s one thing having football feet, but it’s rarer to have a footballing brain. You either have one or you don’t. I believe that Kyle has both.
A goalscorer who literally can score any type of goal. He has the calmness beyond his years, and has the ability to hold the ball up as well as beat a player (or several, if that’s whats needed!)
I was first aware of Kyle upon realizing how good the Blues scouting system is. In an interview with the official Birmingham site, he said he had been spotted ‘at the park.’ The Blues scouts clearly just going from park to park to spot talent these days…
He is certainly one to look out for in the future.
