One to Watch: McCormack

Birmingham will need to be on their guard tomorrow against Ross McCormack. The Scot has recently revived his form and is currently leading Fulham by example.

Fulham are likely to line-up unchanged tomorrow as they face off against Birmingham City. Both teams are incredibly similar form over the past 6 games and in recent times Fulham have won half of the games played between the two teams.

The home side have a wealth of talent at their disposal so on this particular instance you may disagree with my selection of who to concentrate on most. As yes, I accept focusing on one of their attacking players too much may free up someone else, such as Moussa Dembele.

In 15 appearances he has 8 goals and 2 assists. Quite often found behind the front man or in attacking midfield Blues will have their task cut out for them tracking the roaming player. McCorack has scored in his last 3 outings.

The Scott can hold the ball up very well, presents a threat from range and is also a dead ball specialist. All aspects of his game that make him a very good player and it is for his wide range of abilities that I selected him for this article.

Now this is not to say that Blues cannot deal with him, but it will be a difficult task to stop him tomorrow – given his rich run of form.

I do think he presents weaknesses as well for his team. Quite often never found in his own half and can be nullified by being pushed wide when he has the ball. I am sure that Rowett will be playing to keep it narrow and solid through the middle to force McCormack wide.

Blues are hoping to pick up their fortunes of late after slipping ever so slightly down the form table. Rowett’s men remain in the play-offs whilst Fulham are 11th.
