One to Watch: Henri Lansbury

Birmingham City will face off against Nottingham Forest this evening and the visitors have a few names worth keeping tabs on throughout the game. My top selection would be Henri Lansbury.

The central midfielder has made 5 appearances so far this season and has to date been Forest’s standout performer. Racking up 450 minutes, one goal and creating at least 3 chances for his team, on average.

Although Lansbury is yet to register an assist, that may be down to other members of his team rather than his own form. Blues will need to martial the midfield properly to shut Forest’s creative force down during the game.

It may also be worth mentioning that Forest may opt for the experience of David Vaughan in midfield alongside Lansbury. The pair make up a very good midfield central partnership, worthy of competing with many of the Championships top clubs.

Lansbury joined Nottingham Forest in 2012, for the reported sum of £1m, from Arsenal. He has made 93(12) league appearances for the club, becoming an integral part of the team despite playing under various managers.

Who do you think Blues should look out for tonight?
