Southampton manager George Burley has been linked to Birmingham City’s midfielder Stephen Clemence.
The 28-year-old former Spurs player is expected to be one of a handful of players to be moved on as Steve Bruce looks to shake up his squad and mount a campaign to swiftly return to the Premiership.
Bruce has also apparently joined a number of clubs chasing the signature of Crewe midfielder Kenny Lunt whose contract expires this summer. Lunt said, in a very revealing interview: ‘I am not sure what I am doing yet. My agent has spoken to a few clubs and I will take a couple of weeks to think about my options.’
The Mirror also claim Blues have an interest in Tottenham Hotspur winger Dean Marney. Who? Exactly.
Meanwhile Birmingham City have arranged a friendly against Boston on Saturday 29th July.
