It sure is nice to see everyone getting along.
Before the game there was plenty of love being shared by Blues fans towards Charlton boss Lee Bowyer, and it looked to carry on during the match with reported chants of ‘there’s only one Lee Bowyer’, sung by both sets of supporters.
Speaking to BCFC.com after the game, the Addicks manager said:
“I just really want to say thanks for their acknowledgement and support, there wasn’t the chance to do that at the end of the game. I said before the game in the press I did think that I might get a nice reaction from the Birmingham fans – but I didn’t expect it to that extent, and not while the game was going on.”
And in what appears to be a back and forth tennis match of praising each other, the Blues fans responded to Bowyer’s comments with yet more praise.
Deserved our appreciation.

They certainly are putting a lot of effort into making their feelings known about how much they like Bowyer, imagine how excited they’d be if he took over some day (not that I’m putting any suggestions in anyone’s heads or anything), but given the tendency of both sides to be trigger happy with their managers, it’s certainly not out of the realms of possibility.
