Birmingham City are back in league action this weekend as they head to high flying Fulham for the sixth match of the new Championship season.

The London-based side are currently 2nd in the division, only two points off first placed Huddersfield Town who have 13 points to Fulham’s 11, and the Cottagers will undoubtedly want to carry on their good start to the season on Saturday against Blues but we have a secret weapon.

That secret weapon is on loan Burnley striker Lukas Jutkiewicz. I know what every Blues fan reading this is saying to themselves, ‘secret weapon, is he having a laugh!’

I’m certainly not having a laugh! With Clayton Donaldson having been away on international duty with Jamaica, the 27-year-old Southampton-born striker is likely to be thrown straight into the mix at Craven Cottage this weekend.

And with 32-year-old Donaldson having been away from the first team squad for over a week, it will have given Jutkiewicz time to impress Gary Rowett and even work on his link up play with the likes of Che Adams and Jacques Maghoma.

The reason behind my thinking that he could be a secret weapon for Blues is that although he has played in the Championship before, he hasn’t played for quite sometime which makes it difficult for teams to do their homework on him and this makes for some very good stuff for Blues boss Rowett.

He will have had plenty of time to tell the on loan Claret just what it is exactly that he wants from him during his time with the club and if he knows what is best for him, he will do well to take his chances when they come to him, unlike former Blues striker James Vaughan, who by the way is doing very well for his new club Bury.

Blues fans will be hoping and praying that Jutkiewicz can score a handful of goals during his time at St.Andrews and even though I think it will be hard for him to knock Donaldson out of the first team, if he does take his chance when he gets given it then you never know.

Blues fans, do you think that Lukas Jutkiewicz will be thrown straight into the action this weekend against Fulham or will Che Adams lead the line for Gary Rowett’s men? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
