Unless there is a late change, the referee for Saturday’s game at the City Ground against Nottingham Forest will be Mike Jones of Chester.

The last time we met up with Jones was in September when he was the man in the middle for the game against QPR at Loftus Road. Blues lost the game 1-0 thanks to a strike from Charlie Austin early in the second half and five players picked up yellow cards.

Paul Robinson, Dan Burn, Jonathan Spector and Andrew Shinnie were all shown yellow cards for Blues while the booking that went to QPR was unsurprisingly thrust upon Joey Barton.

So far this season Jones has taken charge of 29 games, during which he has shown 96 yellow cards and three reds.

Jones’ assistants on Saturday will be Andrew Halliday and Derek Eaton
while the fourth official will be Stephen Bratt.
