Off To The Riverside For Blues

Birmingham City will be out looking for another three points when they take on Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium on Saturday.

Boro are watching their play-off hopes fade somewhat after a string of results that has not done them any favours.

In their last twelve games they have won just one, beating the top club Cardiff 2-1 a couple of weeks ago in their last home game. But their last two games have ended in defeat at Huddersfield and bottom club Bristol City.

When the two sides met at St Andrews earlier in the season, Blues ran out 3-2 winners and a result like that would go down very nicely indeed.

Birmingham sit six points behind Boro and they won their last game at home to Derby 3-1 while their last away match was at Blackpool where they drew 1-1.

Blues have Wes Thomas and Nathan Redmond both looking for a start each, the pair were mainly responsible for last week’s comeback against Derby with the game being turned on its head when they were brought on as subs.

Thomas hit a brace for Blues, his first goals since joining the club and Redmond grabbed his first of the season in the 3-1 win.

Captain Steven Caldwell will also be looking to start the game after returning from illness.

Players missing with injuries are Pablo Ibanez, but he is nearing a return, Mitch Hancox, Marlon King, Stephen Carr, David Murphy and Will Packwood.
