According to the Daily Mail online, East Midlands side Nottingham Forest are willing to let forward Jamie Ward leave the club this summer with four Sky Bet Championship sides reportedly ready to battle it out for his services.

One of those clubs is Gary Rowett’s Birmingham City, with the other three believed to be Queens Park Rangers, Leeds United and Brighton and Hove Albion.

The 30-year-old joined Forest from local rivals Derby County on a four-year deal back in the summer of 2014 but with the new owners at Forest looking to streamline their wage bill, they could let Ward leave for a nominal fee, or even for free.

Blues have been in search of reinforcements for some time during the summer transfer window and now we can add Ward to the long, in fact, very long, list of potential targets for the club.

Last week, Rowett admitted that he had made over 200 enquiries for players but could Ward be one of them?
