No Grudges Against Bruce or Wigan

David Gold has said Wigan got former Blues boss Steve Bruce fairly and that their chairman ‘behaved impeccably’.

The Blues Chairman added about the weekends meet up:

‘We’ll be meeting old friends next week but we mustn’t forget that the game is a very important relegation battle. Wigan aren’t out of it yet and it will be a real six-pointer. But I have a lot of time for Wigan owner Dave Whelan, he behaved impeccably when Steve left. He acted like a proper person and did everything in the right manner. We want to win, but at the final whistle I will wish Wigan well.’

Meanwhile Blues striker Mikael Forssell says he has no grudge against the former boss despite not featuring greatly in the latter stages of his reign.

In an interview with the Daily Star he said: ‘I’m really looking forward to coming up against Steve. I think all of the players here are. But it’s not about proving a point because I hold no grudges against anybody. It was him who put me in the side in the beginning, so I owe him something for that, but we are just desperate to try and win the game.’

Adding, ‘It doesn’t matter who it’s against really. I think it will come down to the team that wants it most and we want it badly, believe me. We’re not safe yet because there’s still a long way to go, but we have a real chance now.’
