Blues manager Chris Hughton says that the 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town last night was a fair reflection of how the game went.

Birmingham took the lead in first half stoppage time against the run of play, Chris Burke firing home a low shot into the corner of the net.

Hughton`s men looked more determined at the start of the second half and came close to adding a second through Marlon King and then they saw an effort by Nikola Zigic cleared off the line.

But Ipswich were far from out of the game and levelled things through Jay Emmanuel-Thomas.

ughton said: ‘It was a fair result.

‘Ipswich put us under a lot of pressure in the second half and they’ve got the players who can do that, especially in wide areas.

‘At times they were excellent. They played with a certain freedom and we had to soak up a lot of pressure, but we’re a resilient group and hard to beat.

‘Ipswich missed chances, as did we, and in the context of the overall game I thought it was a fair result.’
