Vital Birmingham’s Tom Heslop is reporting that we could be considering a move for Villa’s Scott Hogan as we look to sign a striker this summer.

Our rivals signed the forward from Brentford for £12m in January 2017, but he has failed to make much of an impact at Villa Park.

Supporters were highly sceptical about us making a move for the 26-year-old:

The Republic of Ireland international has only scored 10 goals in 54 appearances for Villa, and would still likely cost a lot of money even with their financial problems.

As Tom says, this is likely a “non-starter” but I am keen to see us start to make some moves in the transfer market.

A goalkeeper, a playmaker and a striker are our main priorities but so far the only likely signing has been the Danish left back Kristian Pedersen from Union Berlin, but even that hasn’t been finalised despite it looking odds-on that he’ll sign.

  • Jesus Christ it’s mid june calm down pederson apparently is joining next month because of ffp anyway and most player’s are still away stop linking us with player’s that are ridiculous and unrealistic because your bored gaz will be doing lots of things regarding transfer s probably keeping it quiet from the public eye

    • Apparently Bradshaw as a 1 million pound release clause if the club was relegated which they was so we could get him for 1 million that’s a better bid for me.

  • I’d rather bid for both Tom Bradshaw and Jack Marriott instead of that clown Hogan !
The geezer is on £45k a week at the Vile and he’s Sh*t .

  • I wanted Bradshaw when he was at Walsall quality player and if he’s got a release clause of 1 mil then we should get him quick he’s proper and always scores against us lol KRO!!

  • Cant see us being interested in either of these players. Hogan had one good season and is hardly what we need, same with Bradshaw as his best season was in league 1. Hardly did much in the Championship.

We are all eager to see things happening but it will be different this year and it will probably go down to the wire with most signings.
Lets just wait as we cant influence anything and we will get what Monk can get which may not be what he wants.

    • He scored 13 goals in the championship more than the other strikers. Mum could get the best out of him definitely worth 1 million.
