Gary Rowett is yet to speak to Robert Tesche about a move to St. Andrew`s. The Blues manager recently spoke of ‘possibly doing something` if the German became available.

Tesche is out of contract at Nottingham Forest and after a successful loan spell at Blues, during which time he made 12 appearances, in 2015, a move was expected. Recently, the Birmingham Mail published a survey asking Blues fans if they would like Tesche back in the second city and the response was an overwhelming yes.

The 29 year-old is available on a free transfer but Vital Birmingham understand that Rowett has not yet contacted the player’s representatives as he considers his options in several areas. The recent announcement regarding the takeover has had no bearing in Rowett`s transfer policy whatsoever as he seeks to strengthen the squad.

If signed, Tesche is unlikely to walk into the Blues side as easily as he did last season – prior to Maikel Kieftenbeld signing. But the extra options and competition is something Rowett is looking to introduce to the ranks.

His first signing of the summer is expected to be Ryan Shotton from Derby County. Blues contacted the East Midlands club yesterday.
