There seems to have been a bit of interest from a party who are looking into buying Birmingham City.

The interested consortium is being lead by a sports management company who has so far remained unnamed.

At the moment there are further plans to hold more talks, but acting chairman Peter Pannu is keen to stress that they are still looking for interested parties.

The statement from Birmingham International Holdings Limited read: ‘The company has been formally approached on 23 January and 31 January by a sports management company who has indicated that it will be able to lead a consortium which will consider the purchase of Birmingham City Football Club.

‘The company’s lawyers are currently in contact with the interested party with the view to clarifying matters of this approach.

‘The company will make further announcements on the future developments in relation to the above proposed transaction as and when appropriate.’
