‘Need that drive, desire and passion’ – Supporters Back Legend To Be Future Birmingham Manager

|

On Friday, the club released an interview with former favourite Mikael Forssell about his future plans.

The Finnish forward retired from professional football last season and has begun studying to become a coach and/or a sporting director.

The 37-year-old said it would be his “dream” to manage the Blues one day. Fans on Twitter were open to the idea although some would be hesitant about going for an unproven manager:

Verdict:

It’s purely hypothetical at the moment, with Forssell still to complete his coaching badges, but I know I’m not the only one who would like to see the legend come back in some sort of non-playing capacity.

Becoming part of coaching staff like Robbo has could be a something to consider. He could either coach in the youth ranks or even offer advice to the first team.

In terms of management, considering our recent track record, I would prefer him to learn his trade somewhere else, and if he’s successful then who knows, perhaps he could be Monk’s successor a few years down the road?
