‘My g’, ‘first of many’: Lots of Blues fans delighted as young man makes his mark on the league

|

Looks like the accolades keep piling up for the young man.

Having been thrust onto the scene on the half-hour mark due to an injury to Jefferson Montero against Stoke City, young Jude Bellingham didn’t look out of place all game and capped off his performance by becoming the club’s youngest ever goalscorer.

And his goal helped him to make the EFL’s Team Of The Week.

Although if you ask me, the sheer size of the deflection does take away from the moment somewhat when you think about it. A 30-yard screamer into the top corner, I’d have no complaints, but with this strike, it just loses something for me. Not that I’m taking anything away from the 16-year-old, fair play to him he saw his opportunity and he took it, it’s just not how I’d want to score my first goal for my hometown club. Enough about the goal though.

His all-round performance certainly didn’t escape the eyes of these Birmingham City fans who were delighted to see him named to the Team Of The Week, with many hoping that it won’t be the first time he gets picked.
