Former Birmingham City youth team graduate Jordan Mutch is set to secure an immediate return to the Premier League with a transfer to QPR for £5 million.
Mutch has just one year on his contract and QPR have said to be very keen since the beginning of the summer. Cardiff have confirmed that Mutch`s minimum fee release clause was engaged at the £5 million mark.
The talented young midfielder is to have his medial today and QPR have said they are hoping to announce the signing before the end of business.
Birmingham acting chairman Peter Pannu stated at the time of selling Mutch that Blues had a “heavy sell-on clause”. So although we can only speculate, Mutch moving on to QPR financially benefits the Midlands team where Mutch cut his teeth.
Jordan Mutch; 22; a Birmingham trainee originally signed from Derby, he made just 21 starts before Cardiff came calling. With just over 50 appearances for the Welsh team it seems he is to move on again.
