Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish says that there will be no more permanent signings before the transfer deadline passes at midnight tonight.

Blues were hoping that they would have had Celtic defender Bobo Balde in the squad by now, but there were complications with the player and Celtic at first, followed by the news that the player would not move because his family was settled in the area.

McLeish has no other targets and Blues will only do some business if something dramatic crops up today.

“There will be no transfer permanently, I doubt that very much,” McLeish told the Birmingham Mail.

“We will look at loan deals and we will do that after the deadline.

“I am pleased with the squad I have got and I think we are capable of gaining promotion if we keep all our current players fite and avoid suspensions.”
