Rob Wildey`s Monday Musings.
The Great Dane is a large German breed of domestic dog known for its enormous body and great height. A fitting description of Blues` new boy Nicolai Brock-Madsen. Well, definitely the Danish part?and the enormous body and great height.
The six-foot-three striker is Blues` most expensive signing since 1893. The fee is reportedly £500,000 rising to £1m with add-ons. As predicted, Carson Yeung is freed from his cell and rides horse back through Small Heath throwing £50 bills into the night?
Friday`s game against Derby was a very entertaining encounter. The moment that made me chuckle was when the Derby fan who tried to get over the segregation netting after thinking they`d been awarded a penalty – then back to his seat after realising the Derby striker had been booked for diving!
And Darren Bent missing a few sitters. Oh how the mighty has fallen.
Speaking of the mighty, we look forward to a cup tie against Gillingham tomorrow. This tie will be anything but easy. The Gills are top of the League One pile and will be looking to cause an upset. But hopefully the intimidating atmosphere of 6,000 at St. Andrew`s will be too much for them.
Then, on Saturday we travel to the land of roundabouts to take on Franchise FC. Milton Keynes is a place I have never ventured before – like a Bolton striker in a penalty box.
Hopefully, the good start to the season can continue. But we will struggle for goals now we`ve lost Lee Novak. Down to you, Nicolai.
