Birmingham City defender Ryan Shotton has today completed his move to Middlesbrough for a reported £3 million.

The 28-year-old has been on standby to move up north for the past three weeks after the two clubs agreed a deal for the defender.

But with Harry Redknapp waiting to find a replacement, Shotton has remained with Blues.

Now Blues have found their replacement in the shape of Brentford defender Harlee Dean, Shotton has finally completed his move.

  • Good luck Shotton, thanks for your service,I doubt last May you would have thought you were on your way out,you are going to a club who have spent huge and who should be looking for an immediate return to the top flight, hoping you get game time and please don’t come back to haunt us.Cheers.

  • Nice sentiments Le Hane.Redknapp has single handedly destroyed this player imo.Middlesbro will treat him well and deservedly so.

  • Harry told all the players they would be surplus to requirement , although I personally did not want Shots to go. Good luck at Boro man. I think Harry has gone for three center backs as the 3 are born leaders they will be hard to break down. Some of the signings we have got are going to be great this season pity we have lost out to slavchev looked good in the middle of the park although being pitted against lesser teams Just hope Harry gets some accomplished players in before we go again ….
