Name: Steve Seddon
Date of birth: 25/12/97
Place of birth: Berkshire
Position: Left-back

Q: Do you have a nickname? If so, what is it?
A: Yes, it`s Sedz.

Very original as all footballers seem to be…

Q: How were you spotted by Blues?
A: I came on trial from Reading.

The scouting system at the Blues can never be faulted. It’s always recruiting superb talent from all ages and backgrounds.

Q: Who has been the biggest influence on you since joining the club?
A: Academy coaches Steve Spooner and Gareth Holmes.

Steve always seems to get a mention which shows what a remarkable job he is doing.

Q: What are your strengths as a player?
A: My left foot.

As a left footed player, it’s not a great strength.

Q: If you could improve one part of your game what would it be?
A: My tackling.

Q: How much interaction do you have with the first team?
A: Not too much.

That’s disappointing as it gives the lads a drive and confidence to work hard. Plus, they could give advice to the youngsters.

Q: What is the best piece of advice you`ve been given?
A: Don`t forget where you`ve come from.

Very humble.

Q: Are you any good at any other sports?
A: Yes.

Short, simple and to the point.

Q: What is your favourite pre-match meal?
A: Chicken curry.

Protein is always good, let’s hope it’s not the type of curry that I get from my local takeaway. Hardly an athletes diet!

Q: Which team did you support as boy?
A: West Ham.

Q: What is the best goal you have ever scored?
A: It was for Birmingham against Cheltenham and it was a shot into the corner of the net from 30 yards.

Lets hope he can continue to score more of these! He’s not the most attacking player though.

Q: What is the most memorable match you have played in?
A: Playing for Twyford Rovers v Barton Rovers because it was when I was spotted by the Reading Academy.

Shame, it’s not been for the Blues!

Q: Describe yourself in three words?
A: Funny, nice, confident.
