Former Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish is now the favourite to take over the Huddersfield Town job and join Blues in the Sky Bet Championship.

McLeish lead Birmingham to their highest league position in 50 years before going all the way to Wembley and winning the Carling Cup in 2011. Following relegation and some choice words from Mr Pannu, McLeish decided it was time to jump ship to Aston Villa.

Huddersfield are without a manager after he was sacked following an opening day defeat to Bournemouth, 4-0. Mark Robin`s successor should be in charge before the weekend.

In the meantime caretaker boss, Mark Lillis, has managed two wins and a defeat in his time in charge.
