Birmingham manager Alex McLeish has revealed that he is still on the lookout for more players before the start of the coming season.

With eight new faces in the squad already, McLeish has been one of the more busier managers this summer, but he does believe there is room for improvement in certain areas of the team.

A left sided player and a midfield playmaker is high on the boss` list and McLeish will be looking for even more backing from the board.

‘Don’t get me wrong, I think the board have done really well in allowing us to get the players who have come in and spending money,’ the Scot said in the Birmingham Mail.

‘Of course, I am like any other manager in that I will take more players if I can get them.

‘I still think that we’re a little bit weak in one or two positions and a bit vulnerable in one or two positions for the Premier League.

‘But, at the same time, I know that we can’t have too many bodies and some players won’t be too happy playing a bit part or being rotated. I understand that side also.’
