Alex McLeish spoke out after the defeat at Arsenal about how he does not think that Jack Wilshere is a dirty player.

The Arsenal man was shown a red card in stoppage time for a bad tackle on Nikola Zigic, but McLeish believes in was just a tackle that was mistimed, nothing more.

‘It was a bad tackle but we know Jack Wilshere is not a dirty player,’ the Blues boss told Sky Sports.

‘It shows even great players can make bad tackles but it does not mean that every player should be vilified for a tackle they make.

‘For me, that should draw a line under the Martin Taylor tackle on Eduardo a couple of years ago because for weeks we bleated on that Taylor was innocent and he was not a nasty player and it’s the same as Jack Wilshere.’
