Birmingham City assistant manager Terry McDermott has praised youngster Ravel Morrison and says the player has what it takes to go right to the top.

The 19 year old, who has had his problems in the past, has done quite well for City since joining the club on a season long loan from West Ham United.

‘He’s a great talent,’ he told the Birmingham Mail.

‘I know he’s got a reputation but he’s a great kid and he wants to do well here. He loves being here and wants to be involved.’

On Saturday he netted his first senior goal in the 3-2 defeat at home to Hull City and McDermott believes that the lad has much more to offer.

‘He’s got the ability to go right to the top and he will do if he listens to the right people, like the manager and the coaching staff. We’ve all helped him but we know there’s more to come.’
