If talk of pressure on Gianfranco Zola’s job is right, that makes tonight’s game at Deepdale against a decent Preston side the most important game of his tenure so far.

After beating Fulham, a defeat at Sheffield Wednesday bought us back down to earth. Performance wise it was OK, however, we’ve been saying that every week. Losing at Hillsborough wouldn’t usually get the panic buttons into action, yet Zola has overseen just a solitary win in 12 outings – a record that will keep haunting him until fortunes consistently improve.

We were told ‘once we get the first win, we’ll fly’. That win has been and gone and it’s imperative to get a few more under the belt.

Blues haven’t won away from St. Andrews since November and tonight’s task won’t be easy. I’d like to say that if we keep on playing in the manner we are, we will win more than we will lose. But Blues’ severe lack of goals is a concern and without scoring goals you simply cannot win games.

As always, Keep Right On!
