The future’s bright, the future’s Blue.
Whilst results on the pitch might not be all the best in recent weeks, there is one thing that has been rather positive, and that’s the amount of academy players that are getting a chance to get some minutes under their belt.
I just wish we were using them in a less stressful situation, like when we’re officially safe from relegation, something I may have mistimed when I spoke about the new five substitution rule being brought in.
The latest player to come under the spotlight for making their mark on the first-team is Ryan Burke.
The left-back made his first professional appearance for the club against Stoke City at the weekend, and afterwards he took to social media to express his joy at finally being able to pull on a Blues shirt for the first time in a competitive game.
Will we stay up?
Yes
No
And Blues fans were on hand to the 18-year-old some kind words of their own, although many of them had their eyes on the future of the club, rather than what’s going on right now (can you blame them?).
Big future Burkey, trust the process 🙏🏻⏳
