Manchester United striker an ideal buy for Birmingham City

In July, Birmingham City were heavily linked with a move for Manchester United striker James Wilson, but with their interest having cooled slightly, I believe we should be looking at one of his team mates.

Over the past 10 days, United boss Jose Mourinho has said that a number of his players are free to leave if the right offer comes in, and among those players is 23-year-old Will Keane.

Available for around £1 million, Keane would be a fantastic buy if we could get him for close to that figure and if we are considering paying £2 million for Sheffield United star Che Adams, I can’t see why we wouldn’t cough up half of that for a Premier League striker.

Last season, Keane spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Sky Bet Championship side Preston North End, scoring two goals in 22 appearances for the Lilywhites but those stats shouldn’t put anyone off buying him.

It is safe to say that North End weren’t the most creative team in the league last season, no offence to them, so in the right team, I have no doubts that he would score a high amount of goals and with Blues boss Gary Rowett stating the club were 12 to 15 goals off the play-offs last season, he could be the difference in my opinion.

Last month, Rowett admitted that he want a player with Premier League or Championship experience, but he was waiting for the right player to come along, and now it looks like he has a chance to snatch what could be a bargain buy.

The former Queens Park Rangers and Sheffield Wednesday loanee has both Championship and Premier League experience which is what the former Burton Albion manager is looking for so I believe he will have his eye on the forward but it may be a move that slips under the radar.

Only two weeks ago, I was informed that there could be a move on the horizon that isn’t going to be in the public domain until it us announced so could this be it? I would like to think so but who knows!

With the money flying around in the top two flights in England at the moment, anyone seems to be able to bid for anyone but I believe that this could be a transfer for Blues fans to watch out for.

Blues fans, do you think that making a move for Will Keane would be a good thing? Would you pay the £1 million the Red Devils are asking for? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
