Leeds United comedy duo Dennis Wise and Ken Bates want to select the Blues team when the rearranged fixture goes ahead.

The Evening Mail are reporting that Leeds are demanding to pick Steve Bruce’s team for the rearranged fixture at St Andrews next month and are insisting that the team be made up of only those players who would’ve been selected had the match gone ahead.

The idea has come from the most talented of managers, Dennis Wise and is being supported by the only man in football who makes Doug Ellis look like a sensible businessman.

Leeds are still furious that the original fixture was called off because of the weather impeding the laying of our new pitch, and apparently have gone as far as implying the ‘accident’ suited Blues and I quote from the Mail:

‘…because Radhi Jaidi was suspended, Nicklas Bendtner and Stephen Kelly were injured and there were doubts about DJ Campbell and Cameron Jerome.’

Therefore Wise came up with the ridiculous idea that Bruce couldn’t select any of them for the game to ‘preserve the integrity of the competition’.

Bruce however points out that Leeds were frantically trying to get a replacement keeper, so exactly who benefited from the cancellation.

‘Listen, I know for a fact that Leeds were hunting around for a keeper on the Thursday as theirs had got injured. It would have been a great time to play them. We wanted the game on, but it was impossible. All this other stuff I’ve heard is nonsense.’
