Maik Extends Contract

Birmingham goalkeeper Maik Taylor has put pen to paper on a new one year deal with the club.

The 38-year-old Northern Ireland international extended his deal by 12 months, he has been with Blues for six years.

Manager Alex McLeish told the club`s official website: ‘He is nearing the age of 40, like David James, but he is in superb condition.

‘I need Maik to drive Ben on in training along with Dave Watson.

‘Maik has almost got to be like a trainer as well and I can also see him becoming a future coach.’
