When he joined Blues last summer, us fans didn’t really know what to expect of Jacques Maghoma as he arrived having previously played under Rowett at Burton.
But, for me, he has really impressed and excelled this season. He seems to buy into everything that Rowett wants him to do for the team and has become one of our main attacking threats.
It took a couple of months for his Blues career to get going and his crucial miss in the derby match against Aston Villa didn’t really help him.
But, as soon as he scored a magnificent counter attacking goal at Leeds, he hasn’t looked back.
His skill and pace enables him to fit right into the way we play as a team and his work ethic has been second to none.
He also recorded five goals and two assists to his name last season which is impressive for someone who could only score two league goals in two years at Sheffield Wednesday.
To keep hold of him is an huge boost for us going forward as his performances last season have most certainly raised a few eyebrows and attracted numerous clubs.
Hopefully this is the first step in the right direction for Rowett to get his squad ready and waiting for a play-off push next campaign.
