Maghoma a Player in his Prime

There is far more to come from Jacques Maghoma according to manager Gary Rowett. The Blues new boy is yet to break into the first team but has been told he needs to remain patient to get this chance.

Demarai Gray and David Cotterill have been ever-presents since Rowett’s second game in charge and there is little sign of that changing just yet. It would be my guess that we will see more of Maghoma once the games start to pile up.

But in terms of what he can bring to the team, Rowett told bcfc.com he has every confidence in the player.

‘He did brilliantly for me at Burton and scored 18 goals in League Two and was the best player in the division at that time, I felt, in his position.

‘He didn’t score enough goals at Sheffield Wednesday and I think one of the reasons behind that was because we know where and to what areas to get him into, we know how to play him.’

Birmingham will need the extra bodies in there once Gray begins to tire, or if the game needs something different. Maghoma came into the fold away at MK Dons and helped change the game in Blues favour.

Baring in mind we haven’t seen much of him yet, it does seem like Blues have a very good option to bring into the game from the bench. And, I have no doubt he will have his fair share of starts too.

Is Maghoma a good signing?
