Lots of Birmingham Supporters Are Keen For Club To Make Bid For 28-year-old Striker

|

After only scoring 38 goals in the league last season, a move for a prolific striker is likely to be high on Garry Monk’s list of priorities this summer.

Although there has been talk of signing Lewis Grabban from Bournemouth in recent days, the Birmingham Mail believe that Notts Forest are the frontrunners for the 30-year-old.

There have been a few other alternatives suggested to strengthen the frontline; one being Ipswich Town’s Martyn Waghorn who is reportedly on our radar if TWTD are to be believed.

Considering the striker scored 16 goals, and provided 13 assists in the Championship last season, he’s certainly someone worth looking at so I put a poll up yesterday to gauge the opinion among fans. It seems that the 28-year-old would prove a popular signing if the club do make a bid for him:

The East Anglian Times reports that Ipswich Town owner Marcus Evans would reject even “big money bids” for the striker so I am not sure how realistic a move for the former Rangers striker would be. He would certainly be a good addition to the side if we were to sign him.

What do you think? Do you believe a move for Waghorn is realistic? Let me know.
