“Leicester we’re coming to get ya”- Lots of Blues fans over the moon after dramatic cup win

|

Well, don’t let anyone say we don’t do things the hard way.

The feeling when the draw was made for the 5th Round of the FA Cup was one of dejection, although I wonder if fans are going to feel the same way when they come to their senses.

The Blues made it through the 4th round of the FA Cup last night as they beat Coventry City 4-1 in a penalty shootout after drawing 2-2 after extra-time.

Pep Clotet named a relatively strong team, with plenty of first-team players in the starting eleven with the only ‘shock’ being the inclusion of young Jack Concannon. Although I’m not going to complain too much about that, given how strongly I advocated for him to be included.

The game was very much a topsy-turvy one and the Blues needed to be bailed out twice. First through Harlee Dean late in normal time, then Jeremie Bela late in extra time. So were the fans still as pessimistic at facing Leicester as they were the first time round? Not particularly.

Did the Blues get lucky against Coventry?

Yes

No

I’ll go ahead and say it. Only two wins away from Wembley, you never know what might happen next.
