Seb Larsson has today said that leaving Arsenal wasn’t as hard as many people would think.
‘I just felt in the summer that I needed to move.
‘Sure I could have stayed there and been in the background, you never know what’s going to happen.
‘But I have had that for two or three seasons now. I’ve played in the Carling Cup and been on the bench a few times.
‘It was frustrating and I felt I had come to that age now where I had to play, be a regular somewhere.
‘I didn’t have any problems with leaving Arsenal. I had kind of let go in the summer.
‘I’m happy the move’s done and I’m here in Birmingham, and that I can settle down knowing where I am going to be for a while.
‘I came here on loan to get first-team football and I’ve enjoyed it, and I feel as if I have developed here. I have taken the next step.
‘When the opportunity came up to make the transfer permanent, we did so.’
