Recently relegated side Sunderland are reportedly interested in taking Birmingham City full-back Josh Dacres-Cogley on loan next season, Vital Birmingham can reveal.

With the summer transfer window now open, clubs are permitted to buy and sell players once again ahead of the 2018/19 season which kicks off again in a little over three months time.

Although Blues haven’t been linked with anyone themselves just yet, there has been plenty of talk of players heading out of the club and Cogley is the latest to join the list, along with David Stockdale, Jonathan Grounds and Craig Gardner, with Stockdale being linked with a move to Leeds United.

It is believed that new Black Cats boss Jack Ross is interested in bringing a right-back into the League One side and Blues are looking to loan out Cogley after seeing how successful a loan spell in the third tier has been for fellow youngsters Viv Solomon-Otabor.

The 22-year-old is open to being loaned out as he goes in search of further game time having only feature in five first team games last season for Blues and a move up north could well be on the cards.
