Kyle Lafferty`s groin injury is ‘not as bad as has been made out`, according to Blues manager Gary Rowett. Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Rowett admitted that Lafferty, on loan from Norwich City, may be fit to face Charlton Athletic at The Valley on Saturday.

The Northern Ireland international picked up the injury during his countries friendly win over Slovenia on Easter Monday. Several sources, including The Sun, reported that the 28 year-old striker faced up to six weeks on the side lines.

Rowett also spoke of the team`s mini-break to Marbella, saying it gave his players a lift. The Blues boss told bcfc.com- “They (the players) are fully focused on the demanding Championship run-in. We need to embrace and enjoy the challenge and have a right good go”.

Blues will welcome back Diego Fabbrini after his return from a minor toe injury. Clayton Donaldson and Jacques Maghoma will be monitored in training on Friday on their return from international duty.
