Blues striker Marlon King has left the club after agreeing a mutual termination of his contract.

The 33-year-old did have a contract that ran until the summer of 2014, but will now be a free agent on September 2nd.

King was told he was free to talk to other clubs at the end of last season as City strived to cut their wage bill.

The club announced the news via a statement on the official website that read: ‘The club would like to take this opportunity to thank Marlon for his magnificent service to Blues over the last two seasons and wish him well for the next chapter of his career.’

King joined Birmingham on a free transfer in June 2011.
