Luke Turner picks a key player for tomorrow’s game…

Blues play host to Preston North End at St Andrews tomorrow evening with Gary Rowett`s side looking to stretch their unbeaten run to six.

The game comes a couple of days after Saturday`s 1-1 draw with QPR where the team didn’t quite play as well as they have done in previous games so a point couldn`t be groaned at.

My key player for that game was Greg Stewart. He came off the bench for the last half an hour but struggled to make any real impact in what was a very physical encounter.

But, for tomorrow’s game, I am going to stick with Stewart as my key player prediction.

Rowett has stated that he may make one or two changes and I just feel that we would benefit by playing two wingers and sacrificing the solidity of David Davis out wide.

In these types of games we just need to let go of the shackles a little bit and really take the game by its horn.

Playing Davis out wide is all good when you want to keep solid but the problem comes when we get the opportunity to attack.

You can clearly see that we lack the creativity and attacking intent which, as a result, makes it difficult to create opportunities and openings.

The introduction of Stewart should hopefully make us a lot more dangerous on the attack and give us the ability to take the game to Preston.

We struggled in these sort of games last season and it`s really important that, if we want to aim high, we find ways of winning these games.

Preston will more than likely be happy to sit back, just like we usually are against teams.

So, that added bit of spark may be needed and Greg Stewart is someone who can provide just that.
