Key player Vs. Norwich

Blues travel to Norwich on Saturday for their second successive game on the road, still looking for that first win under Gianfranco Zola.

The Canaries have won their last two games at Carrow Road and sit just three points above Blues in 10th place so the opportunity is there for us to draw level on points with them.

If Blues are to take all three points away from East Anglia, then I think that Che Adams will be key to it.

Recently, Adams has looked our only real threat going forward and, although he hasn’t scored since mid-November, I do think that it’s only a matter of time before he gets his rewards.

Norwich have a squad full of top players and you could suggest that they are underperforming this season. This isn’t a great time to play them after their recent form but I think that Adams` pace and power can really cause them problems.

If we can get the ball either to the feet of Adams or in behind the Norwich defence, then it either gives him the chance to take on his opponent or beat them for pace.

Blues have to play to their strengths and do anything it takes to get a first win since Gary Rowett left.

Getting Adams on the ball as much as possible, as well as mixing up how we feed him the ball, could work wonders for Zola`s side and I feel it’s crucial that we get him involved in the game.

Wingers can often go missing in games so it’s important that Adams doesn’t just stick to that wide left position. He needs some licence to go looking for pockets of space in behind the Norwich midfield and defence that will give him the chance to turn and run at them.

We Che is on form he really can be unstoppable and it’s crucial that we play to his strengths and utilise his ability against Alex Neil`s side.

If we do this, then Blues will have a much better chance of taking something away from a very tough game.
