Luke Turner picks a key player for the weekends game…

Blues head to Huddersfield on Saturday following a strong showing in the Second City derby where Gary Rowett`s side were unlucky not to take all three points against Aston Villa.

Our away form hasn’t been great recently with just two points picked up from a possible 12 but Blues will feel like there’s something in it for them at the John Smith`s Stadium after The Terriers lost 5-0 at Fulham last weekend.

If Blues are to pick up three points on the road for the first time since early September then I think that David Cotterill will be key to it.

The Welsh winger will be feeling hard done by after he was left on the bench in last weeks derby.

However, he came on and, as soon as he entered the action, was involved in the build up to David Davis` equaliser.

Cotterill is our best deliverer of the ball and is the player who gives us the most width. If we can feed him the ball at every given opportunity on Saturday then I feel that he can really hurt the Huddersfield defence.

As well as this, our best chances during the game may come through set pieces. Cotts is the man you want to be taking those set pieces and, if he can deliver those inch perfect corners and free kicks, then we have the height to get on the end of them.

The stick he was receiving from a section of Blues fans a few weeks ago as well as the time he spent starting on the bench seems to have done him the world of good.

He now seems determined to prove those critics wrong and looks eager to show that he is still a huge player for us.

Cotterill also loves scoring at Huddersfield with two free kicks in his last two appearances at the John Smith`s so here’s hoping for another goal from that magic right boot.
