Luke Turner picks a key player for the weekends game…

Blues travel to Brentford on Saturday looking to make it two wins on the bounce following last weekend’s victory over Bristol City.

Gary Rowett`s side will be without the suspended Jonathan Spector so an opportunity may arise for youngster Josh Cogley to come into the team.

If Blues are to win away from home for the first time since early September then I think that Che Adams will be key to it.

He came off the bench last Saturday to score the winner and earn Blues all three points against Bristol City which could result in a start for him at Griffin Park.

Rowett has started with Clayton Donaldson and Lukas Jutkiewicz up front in the last two games but the pair haven’t really clicked quite as well.

With Adams coming into the side, playing off either Donaldson or Jutkiewicz, then it gives us someone who can run off the central striker and feed off their knock downs.

He can also pick the ball up a lot deeper and carry is forward which makes it a lot easier for us to counter attack quickly.

Brentford conceded three away at Blackburn on Saturday so there could be a bit of fragility in that backline which Adams can look to pounce upon and exploit.

All three of his goals for Blues have came at St Andrews so maybe it’s time he bagged one away from home, you never know.
