Luke Turner picks a key player for Saturday’s game…

Blues return to St Andrews on Saturday to take on Barnsley after a successful trip to Brentford last weekend which saw us pick up all three points.

A win against Paul Heckingbottom`s side would be our third on the bounce and, if we are to claim another victory, I think Robert Tesche will be key to it.

The German made his return from injury at Brentford after over two months out, managing to complete just over 60 minutes of action before he was replaced.

Tesche has started four games for Blues this season and it`s no coincidence that we haven’t conceded a single goal whilst he’s been on the pitch in those four matches.

His experience, positional awareness and quality on the ball really does shine through at times and it’s been unfortunate that his injury kept him out for so long.

With us being at home this weekend, he’s the perfect sort of player to keep things ticking in the middle and you can trust him on the ball to make things happen.

The impetus will be on Blues to try and break Barnsley down and Tesche will be the man looking to make things happen for the team.

It really is crucial that we play to our strengths and getting the most out of Tesche will be doing just that.

He’s an all round midfielder that can score goals, create goals and also do the dirty defensive work and Blues are a much stronger force with him in the team.
